Eight TMBA members attended the Trail Masters Workshop put on by The Carson National Forest. Attendees spent two days being trained on proper trail building and maintenance techniques. With such a large contingent of participants, TMBA showed its willingness to not only ask for new and improved trails, but also showed a willingness to pick up shovels and help maintain the trails we ride.
With the training, qualified Trail Masters will lead groups of volunteers to work on our trails. Already this riding season, TMBA Trail Masters have successfully lead fellow riders to clear both the South Boundary Trail and the Lost Lake Trail. Those trails have been open for fun for many weeks now because groups of volunteers cleared dozens of trees downed during the winter.
If you enjoy working on trail, watch for TMBA’s announcements about volunteer trail maintenance opportunities. If you think you would like to improve your techniques with quality training, watch for the next Trail Master Workshop in early summer of 2020. Contact TMBA for more information on both opportunities.
